Our oldest dude is 4.5 years old today.

Four and a half years ago today, this kid made me a Mom.

Four and a half years ago today, my life was changed. Forever. Everything changed. From my body, to my soul. I am a different person. He (and then the arrivals of his siblings) made me a better person…

Jeez, I’m feeling super sappy and emotional today. Enough of that before I start crying and thinking about us leaving our home…

Anyway, our huge dude is just that. Huge. He recently cut his hair and it made him look so old. He went from being a shaggy little guy to being a clean cut old kid right in front of our eyes. He loves his “daddy haircut” and plans to keep it that way for a while. He’s had a growth spurt since his birthday, and is becoming a long, lean boy… instead of my chunky little baby. He’s lost the dimples on his chubby little knuckles. Tears. I love fat little baby hands. His have been replaced with long slender fingers. And lots of dirt. Haha. Speaking of growth spurts, this kid eats all. the. time. He just learned how to make his own pb&j sandwich, in fact, because sometimes, Mommy can’t be in the kitchen making food all day, everyday.

He loves to play, finally. It’s taken a while to get there, but he is starting to be able to occupy himself. Right now his favorite things to do are: make a nest with Atticus out of all of the blankets and pillows in the house, dress up, and play in the water. He’s still very physical and seeks out that type of play… if he’s not able to get outside and run and jump, he will build a pillow fort and takes turns with Atticus jumping off the bed onto the pillows. He will always find a way to move and be active. Even if it’s not the safest Mom-approved activity, haha. Logan and Atti’s need for movement is one reason we are moving– we just need more outside space!

Logan is also hilarious. His laugh is just as infectious as it was when he was a baby. I just love it. He’s recently learned how to tell ‘Knock Knock’ jokes and loves to make up his own punch line. They don’t always make sense, but they are still hilarious to me.

Here’s a little interview I did with Logan. Nothing special. Just a couple of minutes I could actually get him to sit down and talk with me.

And some assorted randomness from recently.

And I shall leave you with this hilariousness. Pash ho ho is something that Logan made up. I wasn’t sure what it meant until recently…

Happy half-birthday, my sweet silly boy!
