Sweet Baby Belvin was born 3.14.2016 at 11:04am. You can read her birth story here (when I actually post it). The first week was a total whirlwind. Reflecting back on it now, I can’t believe it’s over. I can’t believe that my sweet baby is already a week old. I’ve done this 2 other times, but it never ceases to amaze me at how quickly the time goes by–especially in the beginning when they’re growing and changing so much. I know that I am going to blink and she’ll be walking and talking.

We had a lazy first week. Laying in bed. Snuggling. Getting to know one another. Working on nursing (she’s a champ, BTW).

Chris is home for 2 weeks to take care of us. The kids have loved having Daddy around 24/7. He’s been absolutely amazing– keeping the boys entertained, the house immaculate, and the laundry done. He has even been cooking for me! Apparently, my husband can make a mean avocado omelet. I think I need a stay-at-home husband all the time.

Atticus hasn’t really warmed up to the baby quite yet. He’s had a cold so we’ve had to keep him separated. He spends most of his time looking ridiculous:

Logan and Atticus brought me flowers the day Belvin was born. They’re my favorite. Ever. Logan picked them out. He told Deborah, “Momma loves purple so we need purple flowers.” <3

Logan’s been so good with Belvin. He is totally smitten. Speaking of Baby Belvin… on Wednesday we finally decided on her name. There were 2 names that we were trying to choose between. In the end, Lorelei Marie won out. Lorelei because we like that name… and Marie for Grandma and my great-grandmother (and Julie!).

On Friday, Lauren brought Grandma and Spencer to meet Lorelei.

We waited to announce her name until they were at the house. Grandma’s reaction: <3

Later on Friday, Nana came to pick up the boys for dinner and playtime so Mommy and Daddy could have some brother-free time to snuggle on our fresh baby. We took our first car ride to pick up dinner from the food trucks in Denton and then stared at Lorelei until the boys came home.

On Saturday, Miranda and the boys came over to occupy Logan and Atticus for a while. She brought a fun shaving cream activity for them to do– they had a blast getting messy!

On Sunday, we did a little impromptu newborn session.

She’s so perfect. <3

Oh! And if you’re even still reading this… a little video of her noises.
