Today is the anniversary of Logan’s due date. I absolutely cannot believe how fast time has gone by. In a short week and a half, our guy will be turning one year old. My friend Lindsey told me when I got pregnant that the days are long, but the years are short… and she was so right.
Things have been so busy lately, I haven’t been able to update every week. But I think every couple of weeks is good enough for now. Maybe we can get back to weekly updates after the holidays.
In the milestone department, we have several new ones to add to the list. We have started opening doors:.
.
And throwing fits when we can’t quite reach the handle to open a door:
.
We have also come very close to being able to scale the walls. Yeah, we should have named him Peter Parker instead of Logan:
.
He has also been exploring cause and effect. In this video you can see his little wheels turning as he tries to figure out how to get the water to come out of the faucet:
.
He now has about 5 words. We heard ‘dog’ for the first time this week as well as ‘ei-ei-o’ that he picked up from singing ‘Old MacDonald’. He is able to sign ‘eat’, ‘milk’, and ‘all done’. We are working on ‘help’ to cut down on his frustration when he can’t do something on his own (see above video of him throwing a fit about not being able to open the door). All in all I’d say his communication skills are pretty good for a tiny guy!
In other news, we got rid of the Yukon. We just couldn’t see spending the amount of money we were on gas every month. It was pretty ridiculous. We traded in Chris’s Prius and got a brand new Prius V Wagon. I’m in love with this car:
Getting 44 mpg is way better than the 5 mpg the Yukon got. I’m exaggerating… a little bit. If I ever get around to it, I’ll write a blog dedicated to the new car and all the cool stuff it does.
Logan got to see Santa again. A couple of times, actually. The first time we were at a local outdoor mall walking around after dinner. We came across come carolers and this happened…
.
I’m not going to lie, I teared up a bit. It was pretty magical. Santa and Christmas Magic get me everytime. It’s like this scene in Elf. I bawl like a baby. Every. Single. Time.
.
We also took a few photos that evening. Though, they are cell phone pictures and aren’t very good quality.
Then, earlier this week, I took Logan to meet Santa at the mall. We tried a couple of weeks ago, but Santa was just too scary for our guy. I had hoped that a couple of weeks of looking at Santa pictures and videos would make the big guy not seem so scary. I was wrong. Not a big deal, though… I just told Santa to scoot over and Logan sat on my lap for the photo.
And last, but not least… random photo and video.
.
My little movie star is going to be a big movie star some day!! These pix are precious of Logan, Chris and my beautiful grandaughter.
I’m glad you like the pictures and videos. Love you!
So… The Christmas carol video made me tell Devon I want to have a baby… He said no… I said I’ll do what I want… 🙂
And you will…. 🙂
