This year for Halloween, Chris decided that he wanted to make the kids’ costumes. I was a little apprehensive at first… worried that we wouldn’t have enough time (or skill!) to pull it off. Well, that husband of mine proved me wrong. He and the boys started by watching lots of cosplay how-to videos on YouTube (yay for getting them involved in the process!) and then set out to make a plan. Logan decided that he wanted to be Thor. Atticus wanted to be Link from the Legend of Zelda, which I think was the most perfect choice for him ever. He even looks like Link! Lorelei (after some coaxing from the brothers) decided to be Princess Peach from Mario.

I’m not sure of the exact process for making the costumes. I know it involved lots of foam, glue, a sander, and a heat gun. I was on modified bedrest when this project first started, so I would pop in and out to see how things were going, but I tried to let them do their thing so I could rest and focus on having a healthy pregnancy… and getting out of the depressive funk that I was in.

After the accessories were made, Chris set out to make the clothing parts of the costumes. He even taught himself how to sew so he could make Atti’s hat. This man constantly amazes me!

And the finished product:

And the close ups…

And Baby Cuatro at 14 weeks!

We had SO many fun Halloween activities this year! From wearing our costumes at Co-op, to Halloween parties, and a costume parade with our Forest School friends… but our favorite is always the trick-or-treating hayride through the neighborhood. I didn’t get any good photos from the hayride because it got dark too fast. And let’s be honest, I didn’t try all that hard, haha. But here they are trying to be patient as we wait for the hayride to start.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween!!
