(Incase you missed it, part 1 is here!)

The next morning we woke up and had a proper trailer breakfast– breakfast tacos! Filling and delicious, yet super easy to throw together. Planning easy meals that don’t require a huge amount of prep, space, or utensils is 100% necessary when cooking in our tiny trailer. Especially when traveling during the winter when it’s too chilly to cook outside in the mornings– or send the kids outside to play so they aren’t underfoot.

And since it was a bit chilly outside, we stayed inside for a while and played until the sun came out and warmed things up!

This silly Daddy… always making the kids laugh.

Since everyone had such a fun time hiking the day before, we decided to have another go– on a different hiking trail this time.

We kept finding little rock towers people left along the trail. The boys had fun making their own.

We found a sandy area with a creek and stopped to have a picnic.

After lunch, we played in the sand, digging holes and using rocks to draw pictures.

The kids decided they wanted to join me as I did some yoga and meditation. Logan is super cute when he chants ‘Om’– Lorelei tried too and I just about died laughing. Also, do you like my shirt? It’s my most favorite shirt in the world and I found it at a thrift store for $1!

On our hike back, Logan wanted to use the camera to take some photos. Looks like we have someone to take photos of me and Chris now! He was also really into taking photos of nature,

Since we had more time to spare on this day, I was able to get up close and personal with some of the dead trees– and the living ones too. I love the way these photos came out!

That night we got cleaned up and went to Downtown Bastrop for dinner. Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard was the cutest little restaurant. It was right on the Colorado River and we had a beautiful view of the sunset.

This is probably my favorite pizza ever. It’s called the Fancy Free– Canadian bacon, very thinly sliced mushrooms, garlic, basil, goat cheese, and a balsamic reduction. I need to learn how to make this myself!

Afterwards we stopped in to a little ice cream shop for dessert.

When we got back to the campsite, we made another campfire. We sat around the fire and told scary stories and read from the kids’ Magic Treehouse book.

The next morning we had breakfast sandwiches and road bikes for a while before it was time to head out.

I’m not real sure why he made this face at me as he was riding by, but it cracks me up every time I look at the photos!

What a fun little weekend getaway! It is definitely our goal to try to get away at least every other month this year. It gives everyone something to look forward to– and there are so many beautiful places within a few hours’ drive from where we live, we don’t really have a good excuse NOT to get out of town!
