Soooo…..we were not planning on going on a vacation before Logan’s arrival.  We have had too much on our plate financially–getting a new fence, new floors throughout the house, not to mention the costs of preparing for Mr. Logan joining the family.  Plus we were wanting to hold onto all of Chris’s vacation time for after the delivery.  Then Hima entered the picture with a very appealing proposal.  Drive her car out to California, and drive her parents car back. Hmmm… sounds tempting.  Then I look at the route we would have to take to get us the 1,421 miles to Hima’s beachside shack right outside of Los Angeles.  What do I spot approximately 7 1/2 hours into the trip?  Logan, New Mexico.  Seriously?!  I’m thinking that this trip was meant to be.

So, Chris and I agreed.  We will be picking up Hima’s car from Plano, and driving it to her in California.  We will make some stops along the way– Logan, NM (obviously), as well as some places in Arizona my Dad and Valerie told us about.  We are planning on spending the weekend in California, more than likely playing on the beach because that’s all I have been wanting to do all summer.  We then start the trek home… and will more than likely make a few stops at places we don’t get to see on the way there.  If we are really making good time, I think it would be fun to make a detour up to see the Grand Canyon.
