I had a wonderful Mother’s Day this year! Chris and Logan got me the new camera bag I’ve been pining away for and we spent the day with our family. The morning was spent at Dad and Valerie’s house and we met Ted and Deborah for dinner that evening. It was a busy day that I’m still trying to recover from! Here are our photos from the fun:
Our day started with photographing the wildlife that lives in and around my Dad’s backyard oasis. This is a skink. He makes me laugh with the way his little arms and legs are pulled up by his side. We attempted to catch him, but that didn’t work out too well. We were able to catch a regular lizard. He wasn’t as much fun as the skink, though.
.
Then it was time to eat. This second photo of Logan makes me giggle. It looks like he’s holding his pinky out while eating his banana… like it’s a fine wine or something.
.
After eating, we opened presents. We made a gift certificate for Grandma… good for a meal at her favorite restaurant, Babe’s. Logan made special framed handprints for Grandma, Gram, and Nana. Dad and Valerie got me a beautiful plant for our backyard. It’s a tradition now… every year they get me a plant for Mother’s Day. Let’s hope I don’t kill this one!
.
After our meal and presents, we sat around and visited. Grandma told inappropriate stories about childbirth that made me and Logan blush!
.
While we sat and listened to Grandma’s stand up comedy, Spencer took Logan to play. Spencer just got home from college last week. He hadn’t seen Logan since Christmas.
.
I’ve put on some mysterious weight recently… Logan and I were comparing bellies. He’s also been learning all of his body parts. He likes to pat his tummy and say ‘bell-lee’. He pats mine and says ‘baby’. 🙂
.
Dr. Valerie to the rescue! Dad got a splinter in his foot.
.
Someone did not like having his hair played with. Someone was also exhausted from not having a nap at his regularly scheduled nap time.
.
I love this photo. It’s probably one of my all time favorites.
.
Dad just planted some new grass and decided to put Logan to work watering it.

Chris asked Grandma what it’s like in the Matrix.

Logan loves his Gram SO much!

After we got our dirty baby all cleaned up, we met Nana and Pop Pop for a nice Mexican food dinner. Luckily, that sleepy baby napped in the car on the way there. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have made it. Logan’s just like his Momma… a major grump when he’s tired!
.
Yum!!

Looks like Pop Pop’s been in the Matrix, too.
Yay! So exciting.
