Week three began with a sick toddler and I know I said it in our last post, but I will reiterate: having a sick toddler and a newborn is NO fun. Just our luck that Logan, who is NEVER sick–I mean, seriously, this dude has only been sick twice in his whole life– comes down with something when we have a 2 week old in the house. We wound up taking Logan to the doctor on Monday morning since his fever spiked again Sunday night. His throat was super icky, but the strep test came back negative… so it was likely just a viral tonsillitis. Luckily, he was feeling better by the middle of the week. Here’s a video of our guy snoring away while he was sick. He sounds just like his daddy! 😉

We also had our 2 week check up at the birth center. One of the things I hate about giving birth is that I have to stop going to my weekly checkups. It’s crazy how much I miss those ladies when I don’t get to see them weekly. Atticus weighed in at 9 lbs 11 oz and passed his hearing test. I hung around for over an hour this time and talked with Patty more about the birth. In the two weeks since, I had had more memories come back to me about things that were said or done during the birth that I didn’t quite understand. She talked with me about them to help me process everything. We also went back through the notes from Logan’s birth to kind of help me process somethings about that birth that had been bothering me. We also went through the timeline for Logan’s birth and compared it to Atti’s timeline. It’s still so crazy how different the births were!

The rest of the week was spent taking care of Logan and trying to prevent everyone else in the house from getting sick. Julie was still in town so we hung out and watched a lot of TV and she helped me with the boys. I still don’t know how I would have survived without Julie and Lauren’s help those first few weeks. I’m so incredibly grateful to the both of them for everything. <3
Chris’s grandparents came to visit the following weekend. I actually busted out the dSLR and took decent photos… and a lot of them, so they will be in a separate post. In the meantime, enjoy these crappy iPhone photos:
And I end this week with a video that proves that Logan is Chris’s kid.
