Week three is officially over.  It was a tough week–Chris started back to work on Monday, and Mr. Logan was Mr. Grumpy Pants most of the week.  We survived Chris being back at work, barely.  It was tough not having Daddy here, but Lauren stayed for a few days to help out and be my extra pair of hands.  She was a big help (thanks again, Pucci!!).

It’s been incredible to watch Logan’s development so far.  He is now starting to recognize our faces and voices.  On Monday evening, when Chris got home from the dreaded first day at work, he scooped Logan up and started loving on him… and got the biggest smile that little baby has given so far.  Of course, I wasn’t quick enough with the camera, but I did manage to get this sweet picture:

He was very happy to see his Daddy!

It melts my heart to see Chris fall so easily into this amazing father role.  I always knew he would be a great dad, but to see him in action is awesome. And as much as I already think Logan is growing too fast, I almost can’t wait until he gets a little older to see the ridiculousness that he and Chris will get into.  Camping trips… banging on the drums… building him a pretend space ship in his play room (there are already plans in the works for this one!)–those two are going to have some seriously fun father/son time together.

In other news… Logan decided that holding his head up right after birth is not going to be the only developmental milestone he hits early.  This baby decided to roll over from his tummy to his back…at 2.5 weeks old.  Unfortunately, the first night he did it, we weren’t able to get it on video… and the rest of the week, he was too grumpy to have any tummy time.  BUT we were able to get him on video last night with his Nana and Pop Pop here to witness it:

At the rate he’s going, he’ll start walking in a few weeks. 🙂  And at the rate he’s gaining weight, we will have to get him a membership to WeightWatchers for his first birthday.  We took him to the pediatrician on Friday for a check up since he had such a rough week.  This little (giant) baby already weighs 10lbs 13oz.  He was long and skinny when he was born… I guess he’s just filling out.

We also gave Logan his first bath this week.  We had been waiting for his cordstump to fall off and his belly button to completely heal before giving him anything more than a sponge bath.  We (of course) took some video of it.  He seemed to like it at first, but quickly decided that he was done and didn’t want to be in the water anymore.  Unfortunately, he was covered in soap, so we had to finish.  The last half of the bath was pretty sad… with lots of tears and several little goat cries (the crying where he gets SO incredibly upset that his little mouth quivers and makes a sound like a little goat).
