TinyFat is 9 weeks old and he had an eventful week.

Our favorite cloth diaper store, The Nappy Shoppe, reopened last Saturday so we paid our friends a little visit. The store moved from Allen to Plano to be in a bigger space and I had to see it! Plus, I will always use an excuse to go buy some diapers. TinyFat agrees. He loves new diapers. Two of our favorite brands, Bum Genius and Thirsties came out with new types of diapers. Bum Genius (the green one) is a one size all-in-one. One size means that it should fit him until he is 35+ lbs… so it should work up until potty learning. All-in-one means that it is the closest thing to a disposable diaper in that you don’t have to stuff with inserts, or fold and pin/Snappi anything. All-in-one’s are very Daddy and Grandparent friendly. It’s a pretty neat design… maybe I will get around to posting that blog about our cloth diaper stash, complete with pictures. I’ve had so many questions recently, this would probably be the best venue to answer them all. 🙂 The one with the owls is the new Thirsties brand diaper. It is also an all-in-one, but it is a sized diaper and will only fit him until approximately 18lbs/9 months. Since it is a sized diaper, it is pretty trim and not as bulky as one-sized diapers. It doesn’t give him that giant fluffy cloth diaper butt. 🙂

Last week I mentioned that Logan has recently found his hands. Well, the exploration of his hands was never ending this week. They were in his mouth every chance he could get. In fact, anything in his hands goes directly into his mouth. Here is our Sunday morning snuggle picture, complete with hand sucking.

We also had lots of play time together, like usual.

On Thursday we went to the doctor for our 2 month well baby check-up. The doctor says that he’s doing great. He weighed 13 lbs 5.5 oz and was 23.5 inches tall. He is in the 90th percentile for weight and the 75th for height. The next picture is blurry, but it’s Daddy and Logan in the waiting room at the doctor’s office.

After Logan’s doctor appointment, I had an appointment. Chris stayed home with Logan by himself for the first time. The boys did great. It was weird to not be with them, though. After I was finished, we all went to the outdoor shops in Highland Village and walked around because it was an absolutely gorgeous day. We can totally tell that we are parents now… instead going into Banana Republic and buying something for ourselves (which is what we would always do when we would go shopping pre-baby), we browsed in Banana then left and went on to buy a bunch of clothes for Logan at The Children’s Place. These are my two favorite things that we got:

This shirt would have been perfect for our Darwin Day celebration! Next year, we will wear chimp shirts and watch Planet of the Apes (and get Babe’s to-go)!

This little outfit won’t fit until the summer, but it sure is cute! I just need to get my hands on some baby Converse that aren’t ridiculously expensive. Or some Tom’s… but they were $30 at this little baby boutique the other day, and I refuse to pay $30 for baby shoes.

And last but not least, here is a picture of me and the Tiny guy practicing with our RingSling. My AMAZING momma-in-law bought this for us before he was born and we have been trying to get Logan used to being in it. When he was younger, I would carry him in the cradle position in it, but he quickly decided that he DID NOT want his head covered up and he wanted to be upright so he could look around. That’s why the MobyWrap has been our carrier of choice. Now that he is getting better at holding his head up, I have been practicing with different holds to see what works. The Moby has a weight limit and we won’t be able to use it forever, so I’d like to get him used to the sling now. We have plans to go up to the Nappy Shoppe later in the week to get one of our friends to help us out. (Please excuse my ridiculous face…)
