This week we started babysitting my little cousin, Sarah.  So far it’s been a blast, but Logan and I are absolutely exhausted.  We are getting up super early in the morning to carpool with Chris to save gas money.  Sarah doesn’t live too far from Chris’s office, so it all works out.  But with traffic and making the detour to drop Chris off, it’s taking us about an hour each way, which is a long time in the car for a tiny guy!

We have been trying to do lots of fun stuff to stay busy during the day.  We have gone swimming a couple of times.  It’s TinyFat’s favorite!  We took Sarah to a rock store because she loves rocks.  We also went to the Science Museum.  Here are a few photos from the museum:

Blowing giant bubbles.

Dino bones.  That femur is just about as big as Sarah!

Digging for dino bones!

Picking a giant nose.  Gross! 🙂

The rest of the week, we pretty much stayed around the house and played with Mr. Logan.  Sarah likes to play with Logan, and Logan thinks Sarah is hilarious.  We are having some fun times!  Here are some super blurry pictures taken with the crappy camera on my phone:

Sarah is not a fan of dolls, but she sure likes dressing Logan up.  In this picture, he is sporting a fashionable purple headband.

And in this picture, he tries to make the world think that his last name is really MacDonald.

Newest trick this week is opening cabinets.

Cheesing it up for the camera.

In this video, Logan is playing on an exercise ball.  Sarah comes in at the end to cheer him up.  He gets sad when he falls down.

This week, Logan said his first word.  He blurted out ‘hola’ one evening during dinner.  Now, he didn’t use it in context… he just randomly said it, but it was the first time that he said something that was actually a word, albeit in another language.  Later in the week, we were at Amy and Derek’s house and Amy walked into the living room and told Logan ‘hi’ and he totally repeated her!   Now, again, I know that he doesn’t associate any meaning to the words, but the fact that he is starting to actually form them is totally cool.  If I could only get him to say ‘Momma’ or ‘Daddy’ now.  When I model the word ‘Momma’ he opens and closes his mouth like he’s trying to, but no sound comes out.  He’ll get there some day.  In the meantime, check out this video of him telling me ‘hey’!

That was the extent of our week.  Pretty exciting stuff. Stay tuned for the shenanigans we get into next week!
