We went to Mississippi. We took our cloth diapers with disposable inserts. We had a blast.
Logan did great in the car. We left super early, so he slept most of the way there. Once we arrived, he was a little clingy, but that’s to be expected when you have a group of new faces who all want to hold you. It must be scary being a tiny baby!
Logan went to his first fireworks show. I was worried that he might get scared of the noise, but he did great. He jumped the first time they set one off, but he was pretty much mesmerized for the remainder of the show.
We went to visit Chris’s grandparent’s old house in Kosciusko and to visit their graves at the cemetery. We took some pictures of Logan next to his great-grandparents’ headstone. I didn’t post those on the blog for privacy reasons, but they really are cute pictures. Logan gets one of his middle names from Chris’s great-grandfather on his Dad’s side. It is Chris’s middle name, too. Logan also has my middle name… he has the longest name in the history of the world. 😉
On Friday we went to Philadelphia to visit Granny and PaPaw’s farm. It was so much fun for PaPaw to be able to show us his barns, all of the his land, and the random stuff that he has collected over the years.
Logan ate like a champ while we were there. We are still following baby led weaning, so Logan tried whatever we were eating. He enjoyed creamed corn, potato salad, and a few tiny bits of ice cream… to name a few. We also discovered that he loves tomatoes! Like, loves them so much he ate a slice every day and would whine when it was gone because he wanted more.
Our diaper situation wound up working out great. We will definitely be using hybrids again the next time we travel. We only had one leak and that was the first night and it was my fault for not positioning things correctly in his diaper… if you get my drift.
That was pretty much the gist of our week. We had a nice relaxing time spending time with family. We hope to get to visit again soon!
