Logan is now 10 weeks old. He is growing up so fast! I am trying really hard to enjoy every little moment. Even the difficult ones… like 3 am feedings! I know that he won’t be a baby forever, so I try to get in as much Mommy and Logan time every day that I possibly can. Even if it’s just holding him and snuggling. He will soon be toddling around getting into things instead of wanting to snuggle with his parents, so I need to take advantage while I can!

We had a great week. TinyFatBaby starting sleeping in his crib instead of his bassinet! After having another night of waking every 2 hours (and not out of hunger) I thought that maybe Chris and I were the reason why he is waking so often. Apparently, I snore…really loud. Chris talks in his sleep. And Sarge barks and howls in his sleep. It’s a noisy place. The longest stretches of sleep that I had gotten were when Logan and I slept in the living room (me on the couch, him in his bassinet). We did that for a week while we were learning to sleep without the bouncy chair. Anyway, I started putting him in there for naps one day and he did great. That night, Chris and I went to buy a baby monitor. We hadn’t gotten one yet, because we hadn’t needed one. That night Logan slept for 4.5 hours, woke up and ate, and then slept for 3 more hours. Not too shabby for his first night in his room all by himself. I will say, though… that baby monitor freaks me out. I have this fear that I’m going to be laying in bed and hear someone talking to him on the monitor and not be able to make it to his room in time. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen something like that in a scary movie. It’s also interesting to note that horror used to be my favorite movie genre. Since I had Logan, I haven’t been able to watch creepy movies that involve little kids or a family’s house being haunted. I can still watch my zombie movies and stuff like that… but movies like Paranormal Activity are a no go. I think it has something to do with having to get up in the middle of the night to feed the baby. I’m damn near 30 years old and still *kinda* afraid of the dark. OK… I’m really afraid of the dark.
Woah, tangent…
Anyway, the point of all that is to say that Logan is a big boy and sleeping in his crib now. These pictures are grainy because it was dark in his room and I didn’t want to use a flash, but here’s proof! Oh, and I know that babies aren’t supposed to sleep with blankets, but what about when you swaddle them? I wrap him up, but he will always wiggle his arms out and in turn, loosen the blanket. I tried an actual swaddling blanket that has velcro, but he didn’t like it… probably because he wasn’t able to get his arms out. I’ve tried not swaddling him, but his startle reflex will wake him up. Any advice?? Or should I just get over it and let him sleep with a blanket?

So, aside from sleeping in his crib, Logan has also been going on a lot of walks this week. The weather has been absolutely beautiful all week, so we had to take advantage.

And yes, my baby is partially naked. That’s one of the good things about cloth diapers. Instant outfit. Plus, it was hot outside and he needed to soak up some vitamin D.

Logan also spent lots of time with his Daddy this week. TinyFat fell asleep during his evening bottle. But he looks super cute in his chimp shirt with his Einstein diaper… and his gut hanging out. And if you look closely, you can see that his little foot is smashed on Max’s face. I think that tiny Chiweenie might like the baby after all.

This is what happens when you fall asleep mid-bottle. You get milk dribble all over your chin!

We also tried out the Bumbo chair again. He’s still too small for it so we didn’t do it for long, but I think he likes being able to sit up and look around. This neat little toy suction cups onto a table, or in this case, the Bumbo’s tray. He wasn’t able to spin it himself, yet, but he liked to watch it when I would spin it for him.

*Love* this picture. My smilin’ guy wearing his newest diaper. Aunt Ashley and Miss Vivi accompanied us to our cloth diaper store last weekend for the grand opening. I got him the diaper he has on and a purple one just like it. Don’t tell Pop Pop and Gramps, but the purple one is Logan’s favorite! 🙂

Another recent purchase for TinyFat is a Wubbanub. Basically, it’s a soothie pacifier with a small stuffed animal sewn to it. It’s supposed to help keep it in his mouth. Supposed to. It actually is just a target for him to aim his hands at to help him pull it out. But, it’s cute, so we’ll keep it!

Playing with our little baby gym. Right as I snapped the picture, he spit up. Had to share it.

My smilin’ guy again. This was our “Happy Monday” text picture to our Daddy and Grandparents. How could they not have a great Monday after getting this picture in their inbox?! 🙂

Working so hard at trying to catch his butterfly… he actually grabbed a hold of the rings. I’m sure it was by complete accident, but it was pretty cool to look over and see that he was holding it. And it was pretty funny to watch him try to figure out how to let it go. It’s so amazing to me that babies have to learn how to open and close their little hands. The things that I do a million times a day and never think twice about… and he has to actively try to figure out how to do them. Child development amazes me… I guess that’s why I majored in it in college!
