Day two of the Icepocalypse of 2013. We are still alive thanks to the Dada who went to the store on his way home from work Thursday. If he wouldn’t have been able to stop, we would have starved to death on day one. Or eaten the dogs… and then probably died from some awful food poisoning. There’s no cabin fever to report… yet. Luckily, we have plenty to do around the house to keep us entertained. Like, watch some TV:
And work on the dishwasher when it breaks. Logan was so interested in helping Chris. He even went and got his little play hammer out of his playroom and started banging on it.
.
It wound up being part of an eye dropper used to give Logan’s vitamins that somehow made it through all of the piping. Glad I’m married to Mr Fixit.
.
And this guy slept through the whole debacle. Lucky.
After lunch and nap time, we decided to put up our Christmas decorations. Reminder to myself for next year: get the tree set up and any breakable decor put up BEFORE you wake the toddler to come help. Logan got a little bored while we were putting together the tree and “fluffing” the branches. When Logan gets bored, his alter ego ‘Mr. Destructive’ comes out to play.
.
After we got the place cleaned up, we popped some popcorn, made some cocoa and then sat down to watch my FAVORITE Christmas movie.
.
Logan was so excited to eat some popcorn and try cocoa for the first time, that he didn’t want to sit nicely for a picture with the Dada and Atticus.
.
This guy got hungry too! We’ve been working on bottle feeding each night because we discovered that he was not a fan of the bottle. We were actually getting a little worried that he was never going to take a bottle– which would be a problem when the Momma and Dada have photo sessions or when we have to shoot weddings. He took his first one a couple of days ago… now we are just making sure he gets to practice every day or so… so he doesn’t forget!
.
He topped that bottle off with a little bit of boob and passed out into a milk coma. Sleeping through movies… just like his Nana! 🙂
.
Max was waiting for bits of dropped popcorn. It’s his favorite food to scavenge off the ground.
.
Want Logan to sit through an entire movie? Just give him cocoa and a bowl of popcorn.
.
After our movie, the boys went to bed. Logan actually went to sleep with no problem. I was expecting a sugar high from the kettle corn and cocoa… but he passed out.
.
Chris snuck outside to take a few photos of the ice and came back with these great shots…
.
And I snuggled up on the couch with my Christmas wine glass filled with beer (yes, I’m super classy) and some Sons of Anarchy. Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE this time of year??
