Stuck at home because of the ice, we resort to being silly with our boys to pass the time. And of course, taking photos… and lots of them.
.
Day one of the Icepocalypse started with wrestling in bed and playing Logan’s favorite game, ‘Fly’.
.
The dogs were thoroughly unimpressed with Logan’s flying skills. And I think Max (the Chiweenie) might be frozen. He doesn’t handle this cold weather very well.
.
Next up, we painted our toenails. This started with the Momma painting her toenails. Logan saw and wanted the same. He decided to go with a rainbow theme and paint each toenail a different color. We used the opportunity to practice naming our colors.
.
After lunchtime and nap, we got bundled up to go outside and play in the ice. Dressing Logan felt like dressing the kid in A Christmas Story. Luckily, I had JUST ordered him a coat, gloves, and a hat during Old Navy’s Black Friday sale. It came in on Wednesday– seriously just in time.
.
Dressing Atticus was a different story. We don’t have a coat for a 6 week old, so I put a regular cotton sleeper on him with a fleece sleeper on over it. I then put him in a wrap strapped to my front and put a coat on that fit both of us. I topped him off with a cute little hat. I still felt like it was too cold for him, so he stayed outside long enough to snap a couple of pictures of his first “snow” day and then went inside for a nap.
.
We had been reading all week about snowmen in anticipation of the weather this weekend, but unfortunately, there was very little snow and a ton of ice. So, no snowmen, but we found other ways to have fun:
.
That evening, after we put Logan to bed, we snuggled on the couch and watched a little TV. It feels good to get caught up on our shows! Atticus snuggled down with his Dada and fell asleep. <3
