Logan took his first bottle Friday night like a champ. We were over at Amy and Derek’s house for dinner and I brought along some expressed milk and the few bottles that I had purchased before TinyBaby was born. Not knowing what type of bottle he would take, I bought one of each bottle that was recommended for breastfeeding babies. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on bottles that he might not use. Aunt Ashley and Uncle Aaron were over, too… so Ashley showed me how to prepare a bottle cause I had NO clue what to do! We started with the Playtex VentAir because that’s the bottle Ashley used with Vivi and she highly recommended it . Apparently, it is good for gassy babies… and FatBaby is most definitely a gassy baby. Logan took the bottle immediately with no issues. Chris stuck the bottle in his mouth, we made sure his mouth was positioned correctly based on advice from our lactation consultant, and he sucked that bottle down like he was born with it in his mouth.

Chris is a baby feeding pro!

Mommy got a bottle, too. Thank you for sharing, Aunt Ashley!

Everyday this week, I had a pumped bottle ready for Chris to feed Logan when he got home from work. He likes the Daddy/FatBaby time, and I like the baby-free time (though I need to start doing something more constructive with my time and stay off the internet). I was initially worried that our FatBaby would start to prefer the bottle and decide that he no longer wanted to nurse. Luckily, he still likes his Momma and has proven that he can easily go between the boob and the bottle. I”m pretty sure that he would suck on an old boot if there was milk coming out of it. He’s just a hungry boy!

Nana and Gramps also were able to feed the FatBaby this week. Nana and Pop Pop came over Saturday night, so Nana got to feed him. And then Chris and I went to Garland to visit Gramps and Gram and Gramps got to feed him. All of the grandparents are already talking about being able to babysit now that he is able to take a bottle. Don’t tell them, but we actually had our first babysitter this week. 🙂 Aunt Pucci (Lauren) stayed the week with us and watched Logan on Wednesday night while Chris and I went to dinner and grocery shopping. Apparently, he was a good baby and didn’t cry at all while we were gone. It was super weird for us to be out without him… probably more weird for me since I’ve been with him 24/7 since the day he was born! It was good to get out of the house, though… and I didn’t call Lauren a million times to check on him. Even though I totally wanted too. 🙂
