In case you weren’t aware, we sold our house! And today, we finally closed on our new house! Hima was with us for the day and took the boys to the park while Chris and I signed.

Lorelei stayed to help.

It felt like it took forever for the loan to fund. I think my excitement was making me impatient. .. just a little. We killed some time by eating lunch with Grandma and running by Sherwin Williams to get some more paint samples. Once we were funded, we met Sara at the Braum’s in our new ‘hood to get our key and pick up some ice cream for a little dessert picnic at the new house. Speaking of… here it is! Our cute little country fixer-upper. It needs some help with the landscaping and some reno on the inside, but we love it. It sits on 2 acres with lots of trees and a small creek. And the plus side is that it’s not too far from Chris’ work!

Hima and I spent the afternoon watching the boys play and putting paint samples up on the wall.

Lorelei took her first nap at the new house.

When Chris got off, he met us at the house. We got some food from a local BBQ restaurant (it was soooo good!) and watched the boys play while trying to soak everything in. We met several neighbors and found out that there are kids the boys’ age right across the street. Hooay!

We sat outside until after dark waiting to see what the stars look like… and then we were joined by lightning bugs. We haven’t had lightning bugs since we were kids! It was freaking magical.

So now, we wait for the painters to complete their work before we move in. I’ll update soon with progress from our first project… the kitchen!
