Yes, I said he! We recently found out that Squish is a boy! And here is the proof for all the non-believers out there.

We’ve had 2 sonos and had the sono tech triple check to make sure cause we’ve had so many people who can’t believe that it’s another boy.  There is most definitely a penis there and it is NOT the umbilical cord. Umbilical cords do not have testicles attached to them.

So, if Squish is anything like his brother, he will be here near the end of October. If this pregnancy continues like it’s going, he will be here early… though I absolutely hope not! This pregnancy has been the polar opposite of my pregnancy with Logan. Case in point: it took us forever to get pregnant with Logan. This time we got it on the first try. I wasn’t too sick with Logan and this time I was really sick. Like, laying on the couch unable to move for fear that I would barf kind of sick. Luckily, that seems to have subsided now that I’m well into the 2nd trimester. This baby moves all the time and Logan moved, but not nearly as much as this one. He is so incredibly active… and strong! I’m actually a little worried about what is going to happen to my insides as he gets bigger. We’ve also had to deal with some complications that we did not have with Logan. Luckily though, we found out at our last sono that everything is all good.

We are using the same birth center this time around, though aren’t 100% sure if we will birth at the birth center or at home. This time around we’ve hired a doula and a professional birth photographer. So, some minor changes from the first time around, but pretty much the same. This time I’d like to let labor start naturally and to labor at home as long as possible. With Logan, we jump started labor by stripping membranes and alternating the breast pump with walking. And being first time parents, we pretty much freaked out when labor got going and went to the birth center immediately. That’s one of the reasons for the doula… to help me through the beginning of labor so I can be comfortable at  home. Another difference this time around is that we will be using the Hypnobabies Childbirth program. With Logan’s birth I didn’t feel like I had any coping techniques for the pain. Everything I learned went out the window when labor started and I would tense up during a contraction instead of working with it. I’ve heard amazing things about Hypnobabies, so we are going to give it a shot. So far I love it.

I have a journal that I’ve written in here and there throughout the pregnancy. I plan on posting it with some belly shots at some point. I also have a video of when I spilled the beans to Chris. I’ll save that for another post. Until then… <3
