Week 26 was a very eventful week.  Between gender reveal parties, dinner with friends, Father’s Day, yoga, and the Momma having surgery… we were VERY worn out!

On Saturday, we went to Amy and Derek’s for their TinyPitt’s gender reveal party.  They had their doctor (Amy’s good friend Casey) find out the gender at a sono earlier that week, but she did not tell A & D the results.  On Saturday, Dr. Casey brought a stack of homemade scratch off tickets that Amy made that would reveal the correct gender when scratched.  Amy made a stack for boy and another for girl, and Dr. Casey was in charge of bringing the correct stack!  Everyone put their guess in before any scratching began.  Chris and I both had a feeling it was a boy.  Mainly because I had a dream that it was a girl, and my dreams are usually wrong.  And we kept referring to it as a ‘he’ so I felt like my subconscious knew something I didn’t.

Getting ready to start scratching.  The rule was that Amy and Derek got to start first.  We had to count to 5 and start.  Also, if you scratched off really fast, you couldn’t yell out the answer.

It’s a boy!!! Introducing Henry Paul.  Here is their first look after they knew the answer!

They are so excited and are going to make the best parents in the world!  We are also so excited because Mr. Henry is going to be Logan’s BFF (whether they like it or not!!)

Chris’s first Father’s Day was a busy one.  Logan and I got up that morning  and got breakfast.  We normally make breakfast on Sunday mornings, so to change things up, I went and got us Starbucks and some muffins.  We rarely go to Starbucks anymore, so it was a treat!  Logan gave his Daddy his presents… a plaster cast of his footprints and a copy of  “Me and My Dad”, a children’s book.  Logan and I have decided to start a tradition.  Since we are mega book lovers around here, Logan will pick out a book every year for Father’s Day that Chris can read to him (while he’s young) or with him once he gets old enough to read.  I made that up… and am kind of proud of myself.  We really want Logan to love to read, too.  This is one reason we canceled our satellite TV and don’t really watch much Netflix throughout the week.  I do not turn the TV on at all during the day.  Instead, we listen to music.  Or sometimes, make our own music.  🙂  Sometimes we will watch a show after dinner, but lately we have been going on a walk.  And as far as movies are concerned, I have a bad case of Momma ADHD.  I NEVER thought I would say this, but I can’t sit still through a movie to save my life.  I always feel like there is too much to do! Woah… so that was a tangent.  Back to Father’s Day… Chris and his Dad went to the movies for lunch and then that evening we went to my Dad’s for a Father’s Day fish fry.  He and Valerie just got back from a fishing trip so we celebrated their return by eating their catch.  It was delicious, as usual!

The rest of the week was spent with the Momma gearing up for her surgery on Thursday.  I got the house clean and laundry done so I wouldn’t have to worry about it.  I wasn’t sure what the recovery time was going to be like, so I didn’t want Chris to have to worry about getting things done around the house.

Speaking of my surgery, I guess I’ve been really vague on here about what went on, so maybe I should explain myself.  Basically, when I found out I was pregnant with Logan and went to the doctor, they did their regular yearly exam.  The results came back abnormal, which apparently can happen during pregnancy.  They wanted to check again after I had the baby, so 6 weeks after he was born, I got another exam, but the results of this one came back even worse than before.  I had gone from having moderate dysplasia, to having moderate to severe dysplasia… and dysplasia means ‘precancerous cells’.  After that exam, I went in and had a biopsy done to see if things were really as bad as the pap was showing.  Unfortunately, they were.  Now, I was in a major quandary trying to figure out what I was going to do about the situation.  My more natural side wanted to wait things out to see if it would get better on its own with a change in diet and the addition of supplements.  I had done some research and found out that surgeries on the cervix can affect your ability to carry a baby to term.  Since Chris and I have plans to have more children, this was weighing heavily on my mind.  BUT, my ‘doesn’t want to die from cancer side’ didn’t want to leave Logan without a Momma.  In the end, Logan won.  It took me a little while, but I came to terms with the fact that I just needed to suck it up, get it done, and focus on the child I have now… not the one(s) we want in the future.  We will just have to cross that bridge if and when we come to it!

So, Thursday Nana took off work to watch our TinyFat guy and I went in and had a LEEP done.  They put me under and cut the tissue out.  The recovery was minimal with some minor cramping and just feeling really tired because of the anesthesia.  Honestly, the worst part of the entire experience was being put under.  I hate pain meds and hate feeling like I am out of control.  When she injected me I felt like the world was folding in on my face.  The last thing I said was “I don’t like this very much…” Next thing I know, I’m awake and asking for my baby.  The second worst part was being up with Logan that night from 2-4 am because I still couldn’t nurse –24 hour waiting limit to make sure meds were completely out of my system.  He was really sad and didn’t understand why I wouldn’t just give up the goods.  Poor guy.

Anyway, that’s about it for this week.  Stay tuned for next week’s adventures!
