On day 13 we woke up in our hotel room in Seattle. We had spent the night because Chris’ flight came in late Friday night and we didn’t want to have to drive all the way back to the campground in the middle of the night. Plus, we wanted to explore Seattle on Saturday!

Our Seattle adventure began with a short tour around the Pike Place Market. Holy crap, this area was cool! It was also super duper crowded and not stroller friendly. I can’t wait to come back here when the kids are older and can fend for themselves.

There was so many booths with fresh flowers. I wanted to take them all home with me. Look at these beauties…

And tons of fresh fish and seafood.

We found a little restaurant in the back of the market to stop for breakfast. I think it was called the Sound View Restaurant. The food was decent and the view was amazing.

On our way out of the market, we stopped and bought some fresh local cherries. Logan did a little taste testing while we were there. He liked the Rainier cherries the best!

When we left the market, we headed down the road a few miles so we could see the Space Needle up close and personal. We talked about going up in it to see the view, but we couldn’t justify spending nearly $30 per person.

When we were planning this trip, I was checking out all that Seattle has to offer and saw that there is a Museum of Pop Culture. I looked up to see if there was anything Michael Jackson related since Logan (and Atticus now) LOVE MJ. The website I found said that the MoPop has Michael’s glove and a jacket on display so we went to check it out!

Upon arrival, we discovered that MJ’s stuff is not currently on display. Womp. Womp. BUT, they had a really rad Star Trek exhibit, so that made up for it. Chris and I both grew up watching Star Trek, so this exhibit was really cool and made us feel a bit nostalgic.

There were also exhibits about music, particularly how guitars have changed through the years. And also a video game exhibit.

The other big exhibit they had was all about Jim Hensen. It was pretty crazy getting to see some of the muppets in person.

These are the costumes worn at the end of the movie The Labyrinth. The museum was getting ready for a huge exhibit about David Bowie. Super sad that it wasn’t open yet.

There were so many colors and textures at this museum. It was a beautiful place.

After the museum we drove the 2 hours to our campsite back in Washington Park. Since we had some time before sunset, we decided to go on a hike to show Chris around.

This is what Atticus does when you try to get him to smile for a photo. He shows you his “bootie-butt”.

He thinks it’s hilarious.

We ended day 13 hanging out around the campfire and talking about how crazy it is that we’ve been married for 11 years. Today was our wedding anniversary. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate!!
