We had a busy week! Our Aunt Pucci came into town to see us. We celebrated by going to Babe’s with Grandma. It’s the best comfort food ever and was on Julie’s list of places to eat while she was in town, so it worked out well for everyone.

We also went to dinner with the whole family… that same night, actually. I took a lot of photos, so there will be a separate post for them. There are already enough photos and video for this week!

Julie left to go back to North Carolina on Wednesday. We were very sad to see her go. I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself. I had really gotten used to having another adult around during the day. That first day was a little lonely. I love my children, but they aren’t the best conversationalists:

Did you notice that I happened to get a couple of smiles in that video? Yeah, I was excited about that. Then there’s this guy… who is a little better at conversation, but we apparently don’t understand each other’s senses of humor.

We were in the middle of a diaper change and putting clothes on for the day. That’s why he was half out of his clothes. He’s a stinker… he was lying there singing “Row, Row, Row your Boat” and as soon as I grabbed the camera, he stopped.

I also happened to get a photo of the tiny one smiling:

This week we worked on getting someone to take a paci. Unlike his brother, he isn’t really into comfort nursing and doesn’t need to nurse to go to sleep so there isn’t a huge need for the paci. But it would be helpful if he would take one so we have a way to calm him down when he’s unable to nurse… like in the car or when he starts staying with family or our sitter.

And while I will say that I am incredibly lucky to have such a calm, easy going baby, he does seem to know when I sit down to eat cause that’s usually when he wants to nurse. Luckily, I’ve gotten pretty good at eating with one hand.

I’ve also gotten pretty good at working and nursing. When Julie left to go back, I officially came off my short maternity leave for our photography business. This is generally what happens during Logan’s nap time:

I will say, I feel so very lucky that I have a job that I can do from home. This baby flat out refuses to take a bottle, so I don’t know what we would do if he had to go to the sitter while I worked.

We did lots of playing this week. Logan loves “playing” with Atticus and showing him all of the cool stuff in their playroom:

My patience was also tested this week. Probably more than usual since I was adjusting to doing things by myself again.

Logan’s been enjoying building with his blocks lately. His favorite is to crash down a tower that you work hard to build and laugh maniacally about it. He’s crazy. Please make note of the look he gives Chris about 15 seconds in. It makes me laugh. So hard.

On Saturday, we got in our snuggle time.

This dog got kicked out of the bed for being a butthole. After we brought Atticus home, he peed all over everything so now he sleeps in a kennel. He pouts about it constantly and tries to find other things to do to make me angry… like making a nest in a basket of clean laundry. In his defense, though, this basket of laundry sat on the couch all week. You can see it in the background in several of the previously posted photos.

On Saturday afternoon, we got an early dinner with Dad and Valerie.

Saturday night into early Sunday morning, our Atticus got sick… but I’ll save all that drama for the next post. <3
