This year we spent Halloween at home and Nana and Pop Pop came over to go trick-or-treating with Logan. We had lots of fun! Logan even got to eat his first ever piece of candy! He chose a Sour Punch Straw and made Chris super proud since those are one of Chris’s favorites. Now anytime he sees our Halloween bowl he starts asking for ‘camie’. Looks like he and Chris have something else in common.

After his first piece of candy, we went outside to try to get a photo of Logan in his costume. Since I had been so consumed with the end of my pregnancy, I had completely forgotten to get Logan a costume or to even plan anything for Halloween. Aunt Hima and Aunt Julie to the rescue! They sent Logan a costume in the mail… and it was perfect for him. This kid loves dinosaurs and saying ‘rawr!’… and strangely enough, he usually hates hats and anything touching his head, but not his dino head. He loved it!

Logan helped me give out candy to our first trick-or-treaters of the evening. These super sweet teenaged boys were so patient with him and even told him that they liked his costume.
.
At Logan’s first house for trick-or-treating he chose a bag of Peanut M&Ms. He was so proud of that little bag of candy. It took everything to convince him to drop it into his pumpkin because he wanted to carry it all night.
.
At this point, Julie and I went back to our house to hand out candy. I was happy to have been able to go down the block with him for his first *real* trick-or-treating experience, but wanted to get rid of the giant bowl of candy at our house.
.
After trick-or-treating we all went out for a late dinner. I’m not going to lie, I was scared to take a toddler on his first candy high and a 1.5 week old out to dinner at 9pm, but they did really well. Logan just laughed the entire time, I think due to sheer exhaustion… and Atticus slept. Here’s our little dinosaur cracking himself up at the dinner table:

Oh, and look at this. He’s grown up SO much! He was 10 months old last Halloween.
