Well, it finally happened and it only took 2 years. We FINALLY have a new fence!

Our fence between our house and our back neighbor’s house blew down in a storm the spring of 2011. The guy who owns the house (it’s a rental) paid someone to come out and do a crappy patch job. The patch job didn’t hold (because the posts were rotted and not replaced) and the fence subsequently blew down in a second giant storm just a few months later. We contacted the owner of the house to see if he’d be willing to pay for half of a new fence. We were given the run around for a few months and were ultimately told no. So me, being the stubborn bitch I am, decided that we were NOT going to pay for the whole thing and that he could have fun explaining to his renters that they would have to look at my dogs staring at them through a make-shift chicken wire fence.

We sat on it for a while. Last summer, new people moved in and were told that the fence was being replaced. We waited around and nothing happened. Finally, Chris and the guy who currently lives there talked and got the info for the property manager and we were able to work it out with him.

And they paid their half. Like they should have in the beginning.

So, this is what we’ve been living with for 2 years:

And here Logan and Ollie are watching the workers put up the new fence. It was the most exciting thing to ever happen around here.

And here’s the finished product. I’m SO happy with it! Now we have matching fence all the way around our house. And it even matches the little dog fence that we built. photo 3 photo 1-3 photo 2-3

So, moral of the story kids… being stubborn is a good thing. 🙂
