Well we have been gone for quite a while. I feel like ever since we got back from North Carolina, I’ve been on this roller coaster that is spinning out of control. I was going to try to back-blog for the weeks that I’ve missed and realized that I just don’t have the time nor do I really remember everything that has happened recently…lol. So, here is a quick summary of what we have been up to:
The week we returned from N. Carolina I was SO sick. I caught a stomach bug and was probably the sickest I have been in a very long time. Then the following week, Chris got it. Somehow in the midst of all the barfing and pooping his parents were doing, Logan managed to only get a mild case of it. He had a few nasty diapers and ran a slight fever, but it was nothing compared to how hard it hit me and Chris. I guess breastfeeding through illness really can help babies.
Then the rest of the time that we’ve been MIA, Mr. Logan learned to walk. He took his first steps at the beginning of September and has slowly been getting the hang of it ever since. He is now walking about 75% of the time and crawling the rest. He really took off a couple of weeks ago when he turned 10 months. Here is a video we took last week:
He is doing such a good job and growing up way too fast! In the talking department, we are consistently getting ‘momma’ and ‘dada’ and now he is starting to say ‘nana’ more often. If he wants me to pick him up, he will tell me ‘momma’. We worked hard on that one… he now knows that he has to talk to me before I will pick him up. Yay ABA! He also is consistently and correctly using the sign for ‘eat’. He is using the same sign for ‘eat’ and ‘drink’ but they are so close, we are accepting them both. I will work on shaping them into 2 distinct signs later on. We are working really hard on learning ‘all done’. Right now, when he is all done with his meal and ready to get down from his high chair, he starts screaming and throws his bowl at me. That’s not going to fly around here, so the sign for ‘all done’ is going to be his way of communicating that he’s done and wants down. He hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it yet. ‘All done’ is a more difficult hand gesture than ‘eat’.
In Momma and Daddy news, Chris and I started up our own business. We have been throwing around the idea of doing photography on the side for a while now. It is something that we both love to do and something that we do well together. We had done little things here and there, but had our first paying gig last month. And from that session, we have booked 3 more! So, it’s not much, but it gives us a way to spend time together while earning a little extra money to help pay for Logan’s upcoming 1st birthday and Christmas.
And along that same note… I started up my own business, too. I am now an Independent Beachbody Coach and have been working my way through the Insanity workouts. I haven’t put as much time or effort into my Beachbody business as I probably should, but I’m hoping that I will get some extra time to do that soon. I have lost 6 lbs, though… so that’s a good thing!
That’s pretty much the gist of our last few weeks. Lots of playing. Lots of snuggling. Loving the weather change and spending time with the people we love. I will write a more detailed post about this last week. And then hopefully we will be back on track. 🙂
