This. Kid.

Somehow I blinked and my little baby is now a boy. A hilarious, kind, and curious boy. This is his last photo as a 5 year old… sleeping on a pallet on the floor of my room. He has had some anxiety issues at night– he’s worried that someone is going to break into the house and kidnap him while he sleeps. So he will lay in bed for hours too scared to sleep getting out of bed every 15 mins or so to come and talk to me and make sure that no one will get him. Despite my best efforts to reassure him that all is fine, his nervousness has persisted and recently I gave in and started letting him sleep in our room. Now, he will lay down and go right to sleep with no issues. I’ll take that over fighting with him to stay in bed for hours! Plus, it’s been nice to have some extra end of the day snuggles and talks with my big guy.

Logan is finally enjoying school– it only took the entire semester for him to stop fighting me. He’s a strong willed, stubborn kid– just like his Mom, haha. He’s made a few friends in our homeschool group and apparently asked one of the girls to be his girlfriend at our Halloween celebration. She very politely told him no… and he said that that was fine, they can still be friends. Whew! I don’t think I’m ready for that one!

Most recently he has really been into video games. He got one for his birthday and another for Christmas and has been playing them nonstop during our break from school. He and Chris even worked together and beat Zelda for the Nintendo 64. He’s getting pretty good at them! I’m glad that he has something to keep him entertained during this cold winter break.

Here are a couple of photos from our most recent family photo session. A few days after our session, he asked for a haircut, so of course now I need to take updated photos again!

And my latest obsession… doing a little birthday video interview. This kid is so thoughtful. You can see his wheels turning while he’s thinking of answers. I love him so. <3
