Day 12 was an exciting day–it’s the day that Chris flew out to join us! We spent our morning around the trailer packing for our overnight trip to Seattle and cleaning up. It’s amazing how quickly such a small space can get absolutely filthy. I have been having to sweep and vacuum just about twice a day!

We hit the road after lunch and of course hit traffic along the way. It seems that Friday afternoon rush hour is the same no matter what city you’re in. We kept getting glimpses of Mt. Rainier along the drive which lead to all kinds of fun conversations about volcanoes and what would happen if it erupted. And whether or not we would be safe if we were at our house in Texas vs our trailer in Anacortes vs our hotel in Seattle. And also, “why?” Because you can’t say anything around Logan without a follow up “Why?”

We made it to our hotel and went to dinner at the hotel restaurant. After dinner, I took the kids swimming in the pool, but we were only able to stay for about 10 mins. It got entirely too peopley in there. I swear there were like 20 kids in that pool… and it was not a large pool. And it was indoor and echoey. Blahhhhhh. I’m getting overstimulated just thinking about it.

We spent our evening taking baths, doing laundry (yes, again!), and watching TV before the kids finally fell asleep around 10pm. They tried to stay awake to see Daddy, but just couldn’t!

Chris’ flight came in around 11 and he took the shuttle over from the airport. We sat up and talked for a couple of hours before heading to bed ourselves. This past almost 2 weeks is the longest that he’s been away from the kids ever. And he’s only been away from me for this long once… when Amy and I went to Italy for college graduation. That’s crazy to think about… that I have seen him just about every day for the last 14 years. Speaking of 14 years… today is our 11 year wedding anniversary! Now, that’s even crazier to think about!!

We are going to spend the day in Seattle, exploring and taking it all in before heading back to Anacortes this afternoon. Tomorrow, we take Chris to the island!!
